Last weekend I got to go to a local Stampin’ Up! demonstrator Christmas party. We heard some tips from some successful demonstrators, made a couple of projects, then played dirty Santa. We each made a handmade gift that we would be proud to give to our best friend, wrapped it up, and brought it to the party ready to exchange (and ooooo and ahh over). If you are a demonstrator near OKC and want to come to our next get-together, let me know!
There were so many cute gifts. I made a poinsettia wreath. I started with a 12″ chipboard wreath base from the craft store, then looped a roll of deco mesh over the base. I tied the deco mesh on with pipe cleaners. Next I made several paper poinsettias I made based on this tutorial I found on YouTube. I attached pipe cleaners to each paper poinsettia and attached them to the wreath with the pipe cleaners. It went together fairly quickly once I figured out what I was going to do. Let me know if you have any questions!
This is a simple reindeer Christmas card we made in one of my classes recently. It’s a simple card, but it is so pretty. It’s even prettier in person.

This is a finger nail file holder I made to sell at my craft fair. I think it would be a great stocking stuffer for Christmas! I sold out of them at my craft fair and will definitely be making more for my family and friends.
The original idea came from something I saw on pinterest by Kersten Kreis, and her blog post can be found here: http://scraparound.de/6519/inspiration-art-bloghop-ausgefuchst/
Here are a couple of other colors and designs I made.
And here is a video how-to tutorial.

I got to go to OnStage local yesterday in Kansas City. I had a blast and learned a lot of new ideas that I am excited to try. We got to see the Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs that are coming up in January. There are tons of cute and trendy things coming soon!
Like with any Stampin’ Up! Event, there was a lot of swapping going on. I came up with a “magic” gift card holder for my swap project. It was inspired by Brandi Barnard’s Magic card she made earlier this year. The video, supplies and measurements are listed below. Thanks for visiting!

My sister-in-law and downline, Ashley, are having a World Cardmaking Day event this weekend. These are the cards we designed and CASEd for our event. If you live near Oklahoma City, I’d love to have you come make cards with us Saturday. You can see all of the details on my Facebook event page. If you don’t live nearby, please feel free to use these cards as inspiration to celebrate the day where you live! I’d love to see your creations!
The 2016-2017 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog is here! As a demonstrator, I was able to see the catalog early and have been poring over it for weeks! I am placing my order today. I am in love with this stamp set:
Isn’t this mason jar set the cutest?! There is a matching framelit too. I can imagine tons of Summer and Fall projects using this set. There is a bundle deal where you can get the stamp set and framelit for 10% off. As soon as I get my order in, I will be duplicating and making a tutorial on how to make the “spread the love” shaker card below.
Another awesome thing in this catalog are the all inclusive kits. These kits come with everything you need to make a bunch of cards and INCLUDE the stamp set! My favorite is the Oh Happy Day Card Kit.
One final highlight of the new catalog that I am so excited about is the foam adhesive strips. Shaker cards are all the rage right now and these strips will make these cards so much easier to put together!
If you are a local customer, I am having a launch party on June 11 from 1-4. You can come pick up a free catalog that day. If you are out of town or aren’t able to make it on June 11, please contact me and I will make sure you get a new catalog. In the meantime, you can view the catalog by clicking here.
I’ve been eyeing this birthday stamp set and thinlets bundle for a while. I was getting ready to order the bundle to make a birthday card make-n-take for an event coming up, but as I was preparing for my event, I discovered that I had 2 stamp sets and a set of the framelits! I guess I wanted this stamp set reaaaaaally bad! More than I even remember! Haha!
This was a card that was inspired from some I saw on Pinterest. I also stamped the image from #imbringingbirthdaysback on the back of the card. I love making birthday cards and am pretty happy with how this one turned out!

A new annual catalog is launching on June 1! That means a whole bunch of items are retiring. Several items are discounted but are only available while supplies last. Click here to view the entire retiring list.
We will also be losing the 2014-2016 In Colors, but we will also be gaining 5 NEW In Colors for 2016-2018. I can tell you that the names of the new In Colors will be: Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum.
And here is a sneak peek of them!
I have a feeling a lot of Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach will be in my summer projects!
Let’s make some birthday cards together!!

Join me on February 27 at my home from 2-4 to make 4 birthday cards and 1 birthday gift card holder. The cost to attend is $15.
I will be making YouTube video tutorials on how to create the projects from this birthday card class. If you would like to order the kit to make all of the projects at home on your own schedule, the cost is $15 including shipping.
The Whole Shebang Option:
This option is available to anyone whether you can attend in-person or online. I somehow overlooked the Birthday Blooms stamp set the first 12 or so times I looked through this year’s Occasions catalog, and I am not sure how I did it! It is such a pretty stamp set that you could use for a lot more than just birthday projects. I think maybe I am just in the habit of feeling intimidated by images that look like they take a lot of work to color, despite the fact that I do actually like to color!
I’ve been thinking about what I could do for this week’s Mojo Monday challenge all week. I finally came up with something using the Birthday Blooms stamp set and am pretty happy with it. I decided to do watercolor with ink pads and the aqua painter to color in the flower.
Here is the sketch for this card:
It looks pretty simple, but it was a challenge to lay something out that didn’t look too plain!
