Christmas Holiday Project Review

I always have bigger ambitions for holiday projects (okay…not just holiday projects…all projects) than I seem to ever actually accomplish.  Below are a few projects that I either made or swapped over the last month or so.  My biggest resolution this upcoming new year will be to get back to updating my blog, making tutorial videos, and trying to get closer to making all these ambitions I have actually materialize into something!

Non-Convention Convention

I am in a group with several demonstrators that didn’t go to convention this year. Since we missed out on all of the fun things that went on, we decided to have our own non-convention convention (of course on a much, much smaller scale). We all made up a project and got together for a “shoebox swap”. We got to make some great projects and it was really fun! I want to especially thank Tiearra Burbee for working so hard to put it all together! I will also be posting a video of how to make my project soon.

Here are the projects we made (minus mine – my sample was kept by the organizers so that it could be shared at our next meeting – I will post pictures and a video of my project soon.)

Non-Convention Convention Swaps

Here are a few pictures of the stampers hard at work!

Last chance list for stamps and accessories

As you may already know, the new 2010-2011 Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalog will be coming out on July 1. I am excited for all the new stamps and accessories that will be coming out, but am also sad because it means that a lot of things will no longer be available. We have 1 month left to order all of the items that will soon be retired. Download the lists below to see what is retiring and to decide what you need to order asap. The accessories are “while supplies last”, so if there is anything on that list that you have got to have, you will want to order it right away. You can click here to order these items from my Stampin’ Up! site. Let me know if you have any questions!

Note: Any accessory that has a star (*) next to it means that that item is being “reconfigured”, not completely retired. A lot of punches are on the list with a star next to them, so I am assuming this just means that they are changing these punches over to the new punch style.

Flower Pot Photo Holder Tutorial Video

These are really quick and easy little photo holders that I came up with. I’ve been looking for a cute photo holder to buy without much luck, and paper flowers seem to be all the rage right now, so I thought I would try to make my own cute photo holder. You can also use these to hold and display cards or other paper craft projects. I hope you enjoy the video tutorial! Thanks for looking!

Supplies: Fancy Flower punch, 5-petal flower punch, flower designer brad, Rose Red cardstock (one piece big enough to punch a 5-petal flower, plus a piece measuring 4″ x 1″ and another piece measuring 2 1/2″ x 1/2″), Tempting Turquoise cardstock (one piece big enough to punch a 5-petal flower), Island Oasis DSP (one piece big enough to punch a Fancy Flower), Paper Clip, Mini Flower Pot, pebbles or marbles, wooden skewer, glue dots, sticky strip, dimensionals.

The New Summer Mini is Here!

Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog

You can start ordering from the new Summer mini catalog today! There is a ton of cool stuff in this mini, but be sure to check out the new Smooch Spritz, the builder wheels, the bitty buttons (with the coordinating punches and stamps), tropical party stamp set, and the Island Oasis DSP (my absolute favorite paper ever!).

I am planning to post some projects, videos, specials, and even a giveaway or 2 soon to celebrate the new catalog, so be sure to check back soon!

Easter Chick 3×3 Card

I just wanted to post this card I made for a swap before Easter is completely over! It’s a 3×3 card. I ran the white card base through my Big Shot using the polka dot embossing folder. I used the border punch from the sale-a-bration catalog to make the grass. The Chick is made using the 1 1/4″ inch circle punch for his body, the small heart punch for his wings, the Boho Blossoms punch for his feet and on top of his head. I just trimmed a triangle shape for his beak. For his eyes, I used a black marker to draw in a couple of circles, then used the white gel pen to draw in the highlights.

Thanks for looking and Happy Easter!!!

Business Card Holder

Business Card Holder

Open Business Card Holder

This is a little business card holder I designed. I made 2 different sizes. The one in the video is 1/4″ thick and can hold 12 or 13 business cards. The other one I designed is 1/2″ thick and will hold about 25 business cards. The video for the smaller one is below, and measurements for both are under the video. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks for looking!

For the small box that I made in the video, you will need a piece of cardstock that measures 6 1/2″ x 4 1/16″. You will need to score it on the 6 1/2″ side at 2″, 2 1/4″, 4 1/4″, and 4 1/2″. You will need to score it on the 4 1/16″ side at 1/4″ on both ends. The designer series paper measures 3 1/2″ x 1 7/8″.

For the larger box (that is 1/2″ thick), you will need a piece of cardstock that measures 7″ x 4 9/16″. You will need to score it on the 7″ side at 2″, 2 1/2″, 4 1/2″, and 5″. You will need to score it on the 4 9/16″ side at 1/2″ on both ends. The designer series paper measures 3 1/2″ x 1 7/8″.

Santa, Santa, and more Santas

I made these treats for my coworkers for Christmas. I got the idea from my up-line at last month’s stamp club. I thought they were pretty cute and everyone seemed to love them.

I used the following punches:

  • Full Heart – Hat
  • 3/4″ Circle – Ball on Hat, Red Part of Mouth
  • Modern Label – Hair and Brim of Hat
  • 1 3/4″ Circle – Head
  • 1/4″ Circle – Eyes and Nose
  • Scallop Circle – Beard
  • Slit – Hole for Mouth

I just cut the rectangle and squares out for his belt. I also used a sponge dauber to add some “pretty-in-pink” ink to his face to make his cheeks all rosy. I used a white gel pen to add a little sparkle to his eyes. The box is made using the matchbox big shot die.
